Disney on Ice began in 1981 and is a traveling ice skating show, started by the Walt Disney Company, that features popular Disney characters in costume and ice skating in front of thousands of excited fans. The character is the star of the show and not the ice skater. You will find singing dancing, and entertainment at each of the ice shows. Disney on Ice has enjoyed worldwide acclaim as it has performed in countries from America to the Middle East to Southeast Asia. Disney on Ice has many different productions that it puts on in stadiums around the world from the newest called, "Worlds of Fantasy" to "High School Musical" performances as well as the traditional "Princess Wishes", which began in 2006 and became so popular that it was literally a national and international phenomenon that was the beginning of the current princesses revolution for little girls.
The "Princess Wishes" Disney on Ice show showcases the main 5 Disney Princesses, mainly Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Ariel. A sixth princess, Tinkerbell, is added in as the M/C of the night. Several lucky girls are chosen from the audience to ride in Ariel's ice car and it is a show stopping moment for spectators and children alike! The Disney princess marking empire started when, Disney's head-honcho Andy Mooney reportedly got the idea for the princess line while attending a "Princess Wishes" Disney ice show in Phoenix. To his surprise, he noticed the little girls standing in line had devised their own makeshift princess outfits to wear to the show.

However, one of the best Disney on Ice shows is the "100 years of Magic!". It is reminiscent of being in Disneyland itself. IT adds in elements of the other shows, so it's akin to seeing snippets of several shows at once. It is presented by kids favorite Mickey and Minnie and showcases Mulan, Jasmine and Alladin, Nemo, Toy Story, and Pinocchio.
